In the first half of 2022, Turkey emerged as a leading exporter of hazelnuts, shipping out 149,701 tons to 124 countries and generating $835.097 million in revenue. The primary markets included Germany, Italy, and France, with Venezuela, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Côte d'Ivoire, and Mauritania making their first appearances as importers. Trabzon, a city in Turkey, played a pivotal role in these exports, contributing to 30% of the revenue, or $250.659 million, by exporting 51,536 tons to 56 countries. The Association of Exporters of the Eastern Black Sea Region of Turkey remains hopeful for further growth in hazelnut exports as the year progresses.
