In 2022, the production of crude oil in Kazakhstan increased by 81.8% compared to the previous year, while refined oil production increased by 9.6%. Specifically, in the first five months of 2023, the production of vegetable oils in Kazakhstan increased by almost 16%, with the East Kazakhstan region being the leader in oil production. The production of certain types of vegetable oil, such as rapeseed, soybean, safflower, and unrefined sunflower oil, showed significant increases, while the production of refined sunflower and cottonseed oil decreased.
