In the first half of the year, Peru's agricultural product exports increased by 23.3%, with China ranking among the top ten buyers.

According to a report by Peru's "El Peruano" on February 2, in the first six months of this year, 15 out of 24 regions in Peru have achieved significant economic growth, with agricultural exports and trade showing a robust trend.

Regionally, agricultural exports from the eastern rainforest region (Selva) increased by 28% year-on-year, mainly driven by the growth in exports of coffee, cocoa beans, palm oil, and their derivatives; the western coastal region (Costa) saw a 24% year-on-year increase, mainly due to the growth in exports of grapes, avocados, and mangoes; the central mountainous region (Sierra) achieved a 2% increase due to the growth in exports of specialty products such as quinoa and coffee.

In terms of export destinations, in the first half of the year, the top ten destinations for Peruvian agricultural exports were the United States, the Netherlands, Spain, Mexico, Chile, Ecuador, the United Kingdom, Canada, China, and Colombia, with exports to these countries accounting for 76% of Peru's total agricultural exports.

According to forecasts by Peru's Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), by the end of this year, Peru's agricultural exports are expected to reach $13.5 billion, surpassing the export record of $12.735 billion set last year. This expectation is mainly due to the rise in international prices of coffee and cocoa, as well as the positive prospects for increased fruit exports.

Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Desilú León, stated: "2025 will be a historic year for Peru's agricultural exports. Our goal is to achieve $13.5 billion in exports, which will drive the growth of formal employment, create more income for various regions, and bring more opportunities to producers."
