INTERFAX.RU - In the first quarter of this year, China imported poultry meat and by-products from the Russian Federation worth $70 million, which is 1.5 times less than in the same period last year ($107.6 million), according to materials from the State Customs Administration (SCA) of the PRC. In March, purchases decreased to $24.1 million from $35.4 million a year earlier. Nevertheless, by the end of three months, the RF maintained the second place among nine suppliers of poultry meat to China. Brazil leads ($234.8 million), followed by Thailand ($52.6 million) in third place. At the same time, poultry meat exports from China to the RF increased by 2.2 times in January-March, to $39.5 million from $17.9 million a year earlier.
