Indonesia is projected to see a 6.9% decrease in palm oil exports in 2025, according to the Indonesia Palm Oil Association (GAPKI), due to aging trees and increased mandatory palm oil content in biodiesel. This follows an 8.3% drop in 2024. The country's total palm oil production is expected to slightly increase to 53.63 million tonnes in 2025. The reduction in exports, coupled with higher domestic demand, is expected to increase palm oil prices, potentially making it less competitive against other vegetable oils in global markets.
