Irrigation works in Ñuble will benefit more than 115 farmers and improve water security

Chillán, April 13, 2026.- More than 115 farmers from the Ñuble region will benefit from canal improvement works currently being carried out in the communes of Ñiquén and San Carlos, initiatives that seek to optimize water use and strengthen irrigation security in a context of water scarcity. The National Irrigation Commission (CNR), together with the Regional Government (GORE) of Ñuble, made a field visit with the objective of verifying the progress of these works, which consider a total investment of over $408 million. The regional governor of Ñuble, Óscar Crisóstomo Llanos, highlighted the joint work, indicating that "this agreement between the Regional Government and the National Irrigation Commission has a very clear objective: to have irrigation to increase the productivity of the land.
