Hop grows only in one region in Turkey

The industrial plant hop, which was brought to Turkey with 14 varieties from different countries in 1956, was started to be planted in the Pazaryeri district of Bilecik, where the highest yield was obtained, after 4-5 years of trials in 22 different regions by the Ministry of Agriculture. In some villages of Bilecik and in Pazaryeri district, hops fields, which have been cultivated on an area of 1,405 decares since 1960 and have been the source of income for 500 families, started harvesting, while the rainy weather in the past spring months reduced the farmers' expectation of harvest.
