Mexico: Jalisco maintains national leadership in agri-food production

Guadalajara, Jalisco. The agricultural and fishing production of Jalisco maintains the national leadership with 41.2 million tons produced in 2021, according to official figures from the federal government, published in the 2022 Agrifood Expectations report. The agricultural, livestock and fishing production of Jalisco represented 14% of the national total, which amounted to 294.5 million tons. According to the report of the Agrifood and Fisheries Information Service (SIAP) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (Sader) of the federal government, the value of agricultural and fisheries production in Jalisco amounted to 195.252 million pesos, well above the second place that was Michoacán whose production value was 104,133 million pesos.
