Kazakhstan has signed protocols with China for the export of 23 types of crop and livestock products, with plans to coordinate requirements for 11 more types. The Ministry of Agriculture reports that 1,718 Kazakh companies have the right to export to China. During a state visit, protocols were signed for the supply of certain goods to China, and cooperation agreements were made with leading Chinese companies for increased trade in wheat, barley, and other products. A plan is also in place to create a vertical pig breeding cluster in the Almaty region, with an off-take contract for pork supply to China.
