The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries in Indonesia has constructed a vaname shrimp pond cluster in East Aceh Regency, which has significantly boosted the local economy and served as a model for modern, sustainable, and eco-friendly shrimp farming. Located in Matang Rayeuk Village, the pond has produced 25 tons of shrimp, generating revenue of Rp. 1.8 billion. The pond is equipped with a wastewater treatment plant and a water reservoir, and the Ministry is planning to build another cluster in Paya Gajah Village. This initiative is part of the government's strategy to increase shrimp production to 2 million tons per year by 2024 and to establish Aceh as one of the largest shrimp-producing regions in the country.
