The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) is launching a project in Uganda to develop and distribute indigenous vegetable seeds with the aim of increasing farmers' income and promoting scientific farming. The project will start with the construction of a pilot cultivation complex in four locations, covering 3.8 hectares and equipped with greenhouses, water tanks, and underground water wells. Over the next eight years, KOICA will invest $8 million to develop seeds for five commonly consumed vegetables in Uganda. The project is expected to increase crop productivity by at least 30%, contributing to Uganda's rural development campaign and transition to a market economy.
