The article discusses the unusual situation in Germany and the Netherlands where the normal price drop of onions after the harvest of overwintering and chive stocks, and before the spring sowing fields are ready, has been halted due to unexpected losses from drought and heat. As a result, the price of bronze-colored red onions in Germany has significantly increased compared to last year, reaching 35-36 euros per 100 kilos. Similarly, in the Netherlands, the price is rising instead of falling as expected, indicating similar extraordinary conditions. Both countries' well-organized export sectors are expected to maintain this high price level.
