LMO zucchini post-management in South Korea

[Reporter Choi Young-jin of The Korean Rural Newspaper] Follow-up management will be conducted for domestic unapproved genetically modified organism (LMO) zucchini plantations. The National Seed Resources formed a joint inspection team with the Rural Development Administration and conducted the first post-management in May, such as whether or not the LMO zucchini reoccurred. This measure follows the discovery of two species of domestically unapproved LMO zucchini on March 25. There is a concern that LMOs can reproduce in the natural environment. Previously, Seedwon had thoroughly inspected farms that grow these agricultural products after two types of zucchini distributed in Korea were found to be LMO.
