Rice prices in Indonesia are on the rise, contributing to an annual inflation rate of 5.42% in November 2022, as reported by the Food and Statistics Agency (BPS). The national average price of premium rice has increased by IDR 150 to IDR 12,910 per kg, and medium rice by IDR 140 to IDR 11,320 per kg. This increase is due to a seasonal decrease in production and a fuel price adjustment in September 2022. President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has urged his staff to pay close attention to the inflation rate.
