Cattle purchase prices saw a 3% decrease from the previous month but were 13% more expensive than the previous year, while compensated beef quarters from bulls up to two years old were 2% cheaper than the previous week and 3.5% cheaper than the end of December 2022, but were 9% more expensive than the previous year. Broiler chicken purchase prices decreased by 2% from the previous month but were 25% more expensive than the previous year, while turkey purchase prices decreased by 1% from the previous week and 2% from the end of December 2022, but were 40% more expensive than the previous year. Carcasses of gutted chickens were 8% more expensive than the previous week and 0.2% more expensive than the previous month, while turkey carcasses were 1.5% cheaper than the previous week and 8% cheaper than the previous month, but were 18% more expensive for chicken and 31% more expensive for turkeys than the previous year.
