Kyrgyzstan is facing a decrease in milk supply due to a surge in feed prices, with farms slaughtering dairy cows as they can't afford to feed them. This situation is threatening to shut down milk processing plants due to a lack of raw milk. However, the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan denies any milk shortage. The high cost of hay and the failure to stock feed in advance are the main reasons for the milk supply drop. The country, which requires 889.3 thousand tons of dairy products in 2021, has so far only received 15 tons of products this year, compared to 25 tons last year.
