The Department of Agriculture in Thailand is taking steps to enhance the competitiveness of its fruit exports, particularly to China, by introducing the 'Premium Thai Fruits' standard. This initiative includes the development of a supply chain traceability system for fruits like durian and longan, covering the production process from farm to import gate in China. The system is designed to boost consumer confidence by providing detailed information at every stage. The Department is ready to register farmers under the Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) service and is considering the implementation of the ePhyto System for real-time data collection. The goal is to ensure the quality and traceability of Thai fresh fruit exports to China.
