Misiones expands the development of sheep and goat production with a legal regime

The Legislature of the province of Misiones enacted the Legal Regime for the Development of Ovine and Caprine Production, a regulatory framework aimed at strengthening an expanding activity with high potential for small and medium-sized producers. The regime establishes mechanisms for promotion, training, technical assistance, and protection of producers against difficulties inherent to the sector, such as predator attacks. In the ovine-caprine basin of the southern province—which includes San José, Profundidad, Fachinal, Cerro Corá, Santa Ana, Garupá, Posadas, La Barca, and Cerro Azul—production is already a complementary source of income for dozens of families.
