Mongolia enters the world market with camel milk

Mongolia is preparing to export camel milk, whose products are already in demand on the local market. It is planned to launch a camel milk processing plant in the Umnugov aimag in the south of the country. The main goal of the project is to support local farmers, increase yields and improve production methods using the latest technologies. The camel milk production project started in 2021 under the name “Mongol temee” (Mongolian camel). According to B.Tsend-Ayush, Executive Director of Solid Partners, traditional methods of animal husbandry have shown their limitations. Therefore, in 2023, a farm was established in cooperation with FAO, which implements modern methods of milking and caring for animals.
