Morocco's onion production has seen a 2.2% increase since 2014, with a harvest of approximately 907,323 tonnes in 2019, making it the 23rd largest producer in the world. The area dedicated to onion cultivation and yields per hectare are also on the rise. The country's main regions for onion cultivation include Fès-Meknes, Casablanca-Settat, Béni Mellal-Khénifra, Marrakech-Safi, Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima and the Oriental. Onions are primarily exported to European countries and West African nations like Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, Nigeria and Mauritania.
