PCP deputy Alfredo Maia questioned the Government about the status of the assets of the now-defunct Vila Fernando Educational Center in the municipality of Elvas, Portalegre district, which closed 19 years ago. The question, dated Friday and consulted today by the Lusa agency, was delivered to parliament and is addressed to the Minister of State and Finance, Joaquim Miranda Sarmento. The PCP deputy recalls that the land assets of that educational center, which closed in 2007, also consist of “two estates,” with a total area of “around one thousand hectares.” “In the municipality of Elvas, there is an experimental center of the Ministry of Agriculture operating with a shortage of space and, on the other hand, in the same municipality there are 1,000 hectares of state land without utilization,” he criticizes.
