From April to August 2023, Myanmar earned 214.42 million US dollars from the export of aquatic products, a decrease from the 239.821 million US dollars earned in the same period last year. The majority of Myanmar's foreign trade of aquatic products, about 70%, was exported by sea to countries like China, Thailand, Bangladesh, and India through border trade. Aquatic products from Myanmar are exported through both normal trade (sea transportation) and border trade, following quarantine regulations to ensure the products are pathogen-free.
