The Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan has held online discussions with the UK Ministry of Environment, Food and Agriculture (DEFRA) and the Plant Quarantine Inspectorate under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan (Uzgoskarantine) to increase the export volume of Uzbek agricultural products to the British market. The UK welcomed Uzbekistan's reforms in the phytosanitary sphere and its accession to the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC). The talks aimed at removing barriers to exporting Uzbek agricultural products to the UK and discussed scientific cooperation between departments. The British side expressed interest in importing various fruits, hot peppers, and tomatoes from Uzbekistan.
