The review of the Consecana-SP model was formalized this Thursday (16), during the Cana Summit 2026, with the definition of new rules for the remuneration of sugarcane and adjustments in the governance of the system. The agreement between the Sugarcane Industry Union (Unica) and the Organization of Sugarcane Producers Associations of Brazil (Orplana) establishes an additional factor for the producer, the application of retroactive adjustments to the 2024/25 and 2025/26 harvests and thereafter, as well as the implementation of independent auditing. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) points out that the 4.5% factor constitutes an additional and guaranteed component exclusively for the sugarcane producer, without integrating the reference formula, avoiding automatic extension to third-party contracts.
