The Jincheon County Agricultural Technology Center is drawing attention with its 'Rice Beer Making Education' program utilizing the region's representative rice variety, Alchanmi. The participants not only manufacture barley beer sold on the market but also make rice beer by mixing rice flour and malt in a 2 to 8 ratio to bring out the original flavor of beer, and they also experience bottling and labeling. Chief Officer Choi Jin-ah of the County Agricultural Center said, "There is a lot of interest from the participants in making handmade beer with local rice" and "We will continue to push for various processing education using our rice to increase farmers' income." According to the county on the 27th, the education is being conducted for 30 county residents to help farmers suffering from decreased rice consumption and to inform them of the new possibilities for utilizing rice.
