The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) has reported a growth in the value of agricultural production in Pará, Brazil, from 2.9% in 2019 to 3.3% in 2020. The state's production value increased from BRL 10.6 billion in 2019 to BRL 15.4 billion in 2020, largely due to the production of açaí, cassava, soybeans, cocoa, and palm oil. Igarapé-Miri, Paragominas, and Cametá were the municipalities with the highest production value. The northeast of Pará was the mesoregion with the highest açaí production, and Medicilândia, Uruará, and Anapu were the municipalities with the highest cocoa production. Cassava from Pará was also notable for its national presence, with five of the top 10 producing municipalities being from the state.
