The domestic market has seen a decrease in pepper prices, with black pepper dropping to 66,500 - 70,000 VND/kg and white pepper at 105,000 VND/kg, due to high inflation and reduced consumption demand in major pepper consuming countries. Vietnam's pepper supply for 2022 is estimated at 280,000 - 290,000 tons. In July 2022, Vietnam exported 18,623 tons of pepper and imported 4,451 tons, with Cambodia being the main supplier, followed by Brazil and Indonesia. The quality of Cambodian pepper is highly regarded and it is primarily imported for processing and export.
