Peru has restored access to the Chilean market for its mangoes following a bilateral meeting between the country's and Chile's phytosanitary authorities. The agreement was signed by the national directors of the Chilean Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) and the National Agrarian Health Service (Senasa) of Peru. The mango production chain in Peru has seen significant growth, with the 2020-2021 campaign reaching an FOB value of US$324,668,460. The Kent mango variety is the most commercially viable. Senasa is also working on the access of other agricultural products such as grapes and fresh eggs to new markets.
