Peru's Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation announced that the country will begin exporting blueberries to Malaysia later this year, following the Department of Agriculture of Malaysia's confirmation of the necessary phytosanitary conditions. The Ministry's agency, Senasa, will oversee the certification of these exports to ensure compliance with both countries' standards. Blueberries for export must be sourced from certified fields and processed in authorized facilities. Peru currently exports blueberries to 58 markets, leading the world in blueberry exports with 162,459 tons last season.
