Poland has become the leading producer of pumpkins in the European Union over the past 3 years, with its harvest growing 8 times in the last decade to reach 400 thousand tons per year. The increased cultivation is driven by rising consumer demand and the ease of growing pumpkins, which do not require special soil or a large number of chemical treatments. Pumpkins can be stored for several months, making them available in the market during late autumn and winter, and they are a rich source of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, protein, and dietary fiber.
