In the first quarter of 2023, Portuguese wine exports experienced a slight decline with a total value of 210.1 million euros and a average price of 2.85€/litre, despite an increase in the average price per litre. The United States, France, and Brazil were the leading markets in value, while Angola, France, and the United States led in volume. There was a notable growth in exports to Russia and Ukraine. Exports without Port Wine saw growth in value and average price, with Russia, Mexico, and Ukraine being the top markets. The Setúbal Peninsula region stood out with the highest increase in exports. Despite a slower start, the year is expected to be positive with efforts to promote in traditional markets and expand into new ones.
