Poultry producers in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, are facing an oversupply of chicken, leading to a decrease in prices and losses for small and medium producers. The oversupply is due to incubators in Santa Cruz producing five million more chickens than the national consumption requires. The National Federation of Poultry Farmers is calling for a dialogue with the incubators and is seeking permission to import corn for six months to cover production costs, which have increased due to rising corn and soybean prices. The federation has threatened a road blockade if their demands are not met within 48 hours.
