Second-crop fields show worsening conditions; Deral points to impacts on productive potential

The persistent drought and successive heat waves have imposed challenges on the second-crop bean and corn farms in Paraná. According to the weekly bulletin of the Department of Rural Economy, at least 16 municipalities have already declared a state of emergency, with direct impacts on the productive potential. According to the coordinator of the Conjuncture Division of the Deral, Carlos Hugo Winckler Godinho, the second bean crop, considered the main one in the state, registered a significant reduction in area. In this cycle, planting was estimated at 239 thousand hectares, according to the Subjective Crop Forecast, volume 31% lower than that of the same crop in 2025. Given this scenario, production is expected to decline by at least 20%, with the possibility of more significant losses.
