Russia: Preliminarily, 93% of Siberian wheat is classified as food

On September 29, Deputy Director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Center for Grain Quality Assessment” Maria Shostak spoke about the quality of the new grain harvest in Russia at the end of September at the briefing “Harvest 2023. What should bakers expect?”, which was held by the organizers of the Modern Bakery Moscow exhibition. Thus, according to Maria Mikhailovna, grain and leguminous crops are harvested in 75 regions of the Russian Federation. As of September 25, 125 million tons have already been collected. 90 million tons of wheat, 21.3 million tons of barley and 3.2 million tons of rapeseed have been threshed. Subordinate institutions of Rosselkhoznadzor examined 15 crops in the amount of 38.7 million tons of grain in 58 regions of Russia, which amounted to 33.5% of the gross harvest in these regions.
