Tajikistan has started the harvesting of early cherries and apricots, with the crop coming from the Khatlon region and the Gissar valley. The country has over 80,000 hectares dedicated to stone fruit orchards, including apricot, plum, sweet cherry, cherry, and peach. The early variety of sweet cherries, 'Valovaya' and 'Negro', have begun to be collected in several districts. Apricots have ripened in the Khatlon region, with each tree yielding 40–50 kilograms of large fruits. Tajikistan plans to increase the export of fresh fruits to Russia, Kazakhstan, China, and European countries, following a successful export season in 2021 where over 43 thousand tons of fruits worth $30 million were exported.
