Prices of diesel and gasoline... a tour of fuel stations in Casablanca

This scenario brings to mind what happened during 2022 following the Ukrainian war, when tensions in international energy markets caused sharp increases leading to price convergence, and sometimes even inversion with diesel prices exceeding those of gasoline. This is the fifth such increase since the beginning of the current year. Since the outbreak of tensions in the Middle East region, prices at fuel stations have seen a noticeable escalation, with the cumulative increase in diesel exceeding 4.70 dirhams per liter, compared to about 3 dirhams for gasoline. All distribution companies adopted this new revision, applying an increase of approximately one dirham on diesel, while gasoline maintained relative stability except for slight increases of no more than one cent in some stations.
