The US production of pollock surimi and PBO fillets has increased compared to last year, reaching 189,136 tons and 91,546 tons respectively. The production season for Alaska pollock B is ending and represents the annual production figure. However, despite the increase in surimi production, the demand is declining, leading to a collapse in prices, which is attributed to various market factors including increased Alaska production and Russian suppliers' involvement. There is a strong demand for deepskin products due to the growth in demand from fast food chains in the US, and the decline in the production of H&G raw materials indicates the shift towards value-added products in the fishery sector.
