Peru's Hass avocado exports saw a significant increase in 2022, with a 15% rise from the previous year, reaching 554,498 tons. The country has seen a consistent growth in avocado cultivation, with 60,091 hectares dedicated to the crop, a 19% increase from the previous year. The majority of this cultivation is done by small and medium farmers. The main markets for these exports include Europe, the United States, Chile, China, and Japan. The Association of Hass Avocado Producers of Peru (ProHass) plays a crucial role in representing a significant portion of these farmers and plays a key role in the export process.
