South Korea: Promoting diversification of Jeju soybean and buckwheat distribution structure to relieve supply and demand instability

A plan to diversify Jeju soybean and buckwheat distribution is being established to improve the raw material-centered distribution structure and resolve supply and demand anxiety caused by slowing consumption. On the 15th, Jeju Agricultural Cooperative (Director Jae-chun Yoon) held a briefing session on the launch of a research service to establish a distribution diversification plan, including Jeju soybean and buckwheat processing, in the Jeju headquarters conference room. Last year's soybean cultivation area in Jeju was 4,867 ha, which is only 7.6% of the country's total (63,956 ha), but Jeju is the country's largest producer of soybeans. Of the 58 tons of government-supplied green beans produced last year, 45 tons were supplied to Jeju, reaching a supply ratio of 77.5%.
