Russia: Quotas for imports of sunflower seeds, corn, and rapeseed have not yet been consumed

According to the analytical center of the breeding and seed company Ruseed, as of October 14, the volume of sunflower seed imports decreased by 2.3 times compared to the same date last year and amounted to about 6.57 thousand tons, including 4.46 thousand tons from friendly countries. The import quota is 7.5 thousand tons. Turkey remains the largest supplier with a share of 49% (50% a year earlier), although imports from the country decreased by 2.4 times compared to 2023, to 3.2 thousand tons. Serbia's share in sunflower seed supplies increased from 2% to 17%, the country increased the volume of shipments to Russia by 3.3 times, to 1.1 thousand tons. Imports from Romania increased by 31%, its share amounted to 13%. Imports from Spain decreased by 40%, the country's share in total supplies amounted to 14%.
