The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs in South Korea has added four new items - garlic, ginger, jujube, and shiitake mushrooms - to the distribution history management system for imported agricultural products. This system is mandatory for importers and distributors of designated items to report the transaction details at each stage. The ministry has also extended the designation period for 14 existing items by two years. From August 1, 2022, to July 31, 2024, a total of 18 items will be subject to this management. The ministry may fine those who do not report distribution history up to 5 million won. A six-month training period will be available for the new items.
