Between January and May of 2022, Colombia's livestock exports, including live cattle, dairy products, meat, and offal, saw a significant increase of approximately 70% compared to the same period in the previous year, generating revenue of around 257.6 million dollars. This growth is primarily due to a surge in demand from Arab countries, especially Egypt, during Ramadan. Live cattle exports alone made up the largest contribution to this figure, with a 134% increase in revenue compared to the same period in 2021. However, exports of meat and offal have seen a decline, with a 26% decrease in volume compared to the same period in 2021. Dairy exports, including products like condensed milk and yogurt, experienced a drop of 56.6% in volume and a 47% decrease in value compared to the same period in 2021.
