On July 16, a total of 525,000 sturgeon, including 425,000 Amur sturgeon and 100 Kaluga sturgeon of various ages, were released into the Amur River near Tongjiang, China. This event was part of ongoing efforts to conserve sturgeon species and was accompanied by presentations from fish producers. On July 19, an additional 50,000 Kaluga juveniles were released on the Russian side of the river. The collaboration between China and Russia aims to promote environmental responsibility in fish stock exploitation and involves planning to release at least 1.3 million juvenile sturgeon into the Amur River's border waters in 2024.
