Over the past year, Russia entered the top ten global chocolate exporters, as revealed by RIA Novosti, which studied open statistical data. RIA Novosti reports this citing data from the Federal Center for the Development of Exports of Agricultural Products (Agroexport, belongs to the Ministry of Agriculture – ROSNG). In monetary terms, the overseas shipments of this product from Russia last year amounted to 985 million dollars. With this indicator, Russia took tenth place. Dynamics for previous years or months, as well as data in physical terms, are not provided here or elsewhere. Germany turned out to be the largest chocolate exporter, selling it for $8.6 billion. This is $2.1 billion more than Belgium, which came in second place. Following them is a trio of Poland with a sum of $4 billion. Slightly less, $3.9 billion, was the export revenue from chocolate sales in Italy. Closing the top five are the Netherlands, from where $3.4 billion worth of sweet goods were shipped.
