Russia in 2023 has reduced the import of sunflower seeds, winter rapeseed and soybeans

Since the beginning of 2023, Rosselkhoznadzor has processed 11,361 applications for the import of seed and planting material received through the FGIS Argus-Fito electronic system. Over the past period of 2023, 73.3 thousand tons of imported seed material (including seed potatoes) were imported into Russia. There was a decrease in the volume of imports of imported seed material by 30% (73 thousand tons) compared to the same period in 2022. A decrease in supplies was noted for winter wheat seed material by 73.3% (209 tons), corn by 47.6% (17.5 thousand tons), sunflower by 37.8% (15.2 thousand tons), winter rapeseed by 29.4% (1.2 thousand tons), soybeans by 25.6% (676 tons), seed potatoes by 22.4% (11.1 thousand tons), onion sets by 19.5% (6 thousand tons), sugar beets by 23.6% (2.6 thousand tons), alfalfa by 11.3% (1.1 thousand tons), vegetable seeds by 12.1% (768 tons).
