The Santa Catarina State Secretariat of Agriculture and Livestock published Ordinance Sape No. 66/2025, dated November 27, which defines criteria for exceptional soybean planting authorizations in the State. The Santa Catarina Integrated Agricultural Development Company will be responsible for analyzing the requests, in accordance with the technical parameters provided in the regulation. According to the state government, the measure aims to ensure "phytosanitary safety, innovation, and adaptation of the productive sector in the face of the impacts of climate change." In effect since December 1, the ordinance establishes that exceptional authorizations may cover research activities, teaching, seed production, demonstration units at agricultural events, and, in specific situations, grain production affected by atypical climatic conditions.
