From January to August 2021, Ukraine experienced a significant shift in its sugar trade dynamics. Exports during this period saw a dramatic decrease of 31% compared to the previous season, totaling 2.225 thousand tons worth $1.264 million, with Israel, Germany, and Moldova being the primary importers. On the other hand, sugar imports surged to 163.2 thousand tons, marking a 2.6 times increase compared to the previous period, with Israel, Germany, and Belgium as the top suppliers. Additionally, the country also imported and exported other sugars in substantial amounts, and the trade of molasses saw Ukraine exporting 716 tons to Israel and importing 3.79 thousand tons from various countries.
