Farmers in the south of Mazovia, Poland, are expecting a decrease in the yield of seasonal vegetables such as cucumbers, zucchini, and tomatoes due to adverse weather conditions and disease, which could lead to a price increase of up to 30% for these vegetables in the coming weeks. The situation is further complicated by the need to export a significant portion of the harvest in August. The price of some vegetables like courgettes and peppers could increase by over one zloty per kilogram. The price hike is also attributed to spring frosts and July hailstorms that damaged part of the harvest.
