The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries reported a 4.3% increase in exports of Tuna-Cakalang-Tongkol (TCT) commodities, including a 17.4% rise in tuna fishery commodities, from January to May 2024. The total value of Indonesian tuna exports reached US$ 374.69 million, an increase of 4.3% compared to the same period in 2023. The United States, Japan, and the European Union are the primary importers of these products, with the European Union showing the most significant increase. Italy specifically imported the highest value of Indonesian tuna. Canned tuna and fillets were the most preferred products in the foreign markets.
