South Korea presents a significant market opportunity for UK pig producers, says the National Pig Association (NPA). The DIT is seeking input for a new free trade agreement with South Korea. Despite only accounting for 0.86% of South Korea's pig meat imports in 2021, the NPA believes there is potential for increased UK exports, especially with the recent approval of bacon, ham, and pork sausages. The NPA is urging the Government to support a variety of export markets to recover carcass value and provide resilience for the UK pig sector.
